NAVA Real Estate Development was founded in 2013 by the partnership of Trevor M. Hines and Brian J. Levitt. Brian and Trevor share a common vision in development and passion for the business. Thus far NAVA has seen good results, and is actively working on projects in the spaces of Retail, Multifamily Residential, and Mixed-Use.
Trevor M. Hines. CEO
Trevor M. Hines is the Chief Executive Officer of NAVA and oversees deal sourcing and business strategy. His father is the founder of the one of the world’s largest real estate companies, so Trevor grew up exposed to development his entire life. Trevor was born in Houston but moved with his family to London, England at the age of 10, attending school there. Trevor went on to earn a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Yale University, and moved to Denver in 2012 together with his wife and growing family. They were attracted by the vibrant and dynamic growth of the city, natural beauty of the state, and the positive temperament of the people here. Trevor enjoys applying the technical and analytical approach of engineering to the development space. He is always seeking to understand why things are the way they are, and how to improve the efficiency of processes. Aside from a brief stint in engineering, Trevor has enjoyed business from a young age, working for his father’s firm in several locations. Trevor has also worked in investment, working to construct a portfolio for Hines’ non-real-estate investments in the wake of 2008.
Trevor’s Dad, Gerald D. Hines, is an unofficial third partner in NAVA. Gerald serves as a mentor to Trevor and a guide to NAVA’s business activities, on a daily basis. He is involved in all of our deals from the start, offering his opinions and seeking solutions to challenges. Gerald has tremendous enthusiasm for the development process, traveling frequently and working long hours, even at the age of 87.
Brian J. Levitt. President
Brian J. Levitt, MRECM, LEED AP is the President of NAVA and responsible for the daily operations of the company. Brian grew up in Denver, and has a deep familiarity with the city and its inhabitants. Brian earned a BA in Psychology from the University of Colorado; upon discovering Real Estate as a vocation in New York he continued on to earn an a MS in Real Estate and Construction Management from the University of Denver. Brian has developed in and around Denver for over 18 years, building over four (4) million SF of commercial and residential space and consulting on over $2 billion of real estate for various clients. In terms of expertise, his skillsets includes deal sourcing, feasibility analysis, financial modeling, partnerships, acquisitions, project management, sustainable design, contracting, entitlements, vertical construction, debt and equity, asset management, sustainability and wellness. Brian has managed the most complicated of real estate developments, successfully delivering a variety of mixed-use projects since 1996, on budget and on time.
Brian believes in giving back to the real estate community. Since 1997, he has contributed more than 10% of his time to non-profit work as a board member or committee chair. Brian served as Vice Chair for the national ULI Sustainable Development council from 2005-2007, Co-chair of the Colorado Sustainability committee from 2006-2013, and Co-founded the first ULI Building Healthy Places committee in 2013. At the University of Denver, Brian has taught as an adjunct professor in the graduate school of real estate for six quarters, and coached student teams competing in the CU-DU “NAIOP Challenge” for four years.
Donald A Larsen. Vice President of NAVA
Donald A Larsen is the Vice President of NAVA and responsible for the Design & Construction of the Company’s projects. Don grew up in Avon Lake, OH where he worked as a mason while attending The University of Akron. Don obtained a degree in Construction Management from The University of Akron, AS in Environmental Engineering from West Side Institute of Technology and a Third Class Stationary Engineer License from the State of Ohio. Don was a partner in a mid-sized General Contracting firm in Cleveland, OH for 10 years prior to moving to Denver in 2004. Don has been responsible for the Design and Construction of over 15 million SF of commercial and residential construction and redevelopment projects. Don brings a broad depth of experience and knowledge to the company and is committed to providing a quality product for the end user & leadership to the teams he manages.
Don enjoys the exploring the CO outdoors and spends his free time hiking, biking and camping with his wife and along with their horse and dog.

NAVA’s projects will be constructed to achieve USGBC LEED Certification. One percent (1%) of our profits will go to a non-profit of choice. NAVA is also pursuing strategies to build to buildings that enhance the health and wellness of their users.
